Curving his skills from formative years in banking, Alfred Chaavure has had a remarkable journey to the new highs he currently finds himself following his appointment at DPC, a depositors protection corporation in Zimbabwe. The Deposit Protection Corporation (DPC) has announced the appointment of Mr. Alfred Chaavure as the Finance and Administration Director, effective from September 1st, 2023. This appointment, made under the purview of the Public Entities Corporate Governance Act [Chapter 10.31], marks a new chapter in Alfred Chaavure's illustrious career.

With over 20 years of experience in Strategic Management, Banking, Finance, and Accounting, Alfred Chaavure brings a wealth of expertise and knowledge to his new role. He holds a Bachelor of Business Studies (Honours) Degree from the University of Zimbabwe and is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant. Notably, he is an Associate member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA, CGMA) and a member of the Chartered Governance and Accountancy Institute in Zimbabwe.

Alfred Chaavure's impressive career trajectory showcases his dedication and commitment to the finance industry. Prior to assuming his current position at the DPC, he held strategic roles as the Chief Finance Officer at prominent financial institutions. He served as the Chief Finance Officer at CABS, Steward Bank, and the National Building Society (NBS), where he also took on the role of Acting Managing Director.

Delving into his professional journey, Alfred Chaavure's career began in 2003 as a Financial Accountant at Lafarge Cement, now known as Khaya Cement. His remarkable skills and acumen led him to join CABS in 2005, where he served as Chief Accountant until 2010. Recognizing his exceptional abilities, he was promoted to the position of Chief Finance Officer (CFO) at CABS, a role he held from 2010 to 2015.

Alfred's reputation continued to soar as he assumed the position of CFO at Steward Bank from 2015 to 2019, further solidifying his expertise in financial management. Subsequently, he joined the National Building Society (NBS) as CFO and made significant contributions to the institution during his tenure.

In addition to his impressive academic and professional accomplishments, Alfred Chaavure also attended the Senior Executive Program at the prestigious Harvard Business School in 2018. This further enriched his knowledge and equipped him with valuable insights into strategic leadership and management.
