Harare-TSL Limited , a diversified holding company with interests in tobacco auctioning, printing and packaging, agricultural inputs, storage and distribution, and services has embarked on a significant restructuring of its operations, aimed at enhancing its strategic alignment and creating capacity for growth in its core business areas.

The company is exiting two non-core businesses while simultaneously expanding into new opportunities.

TSL is discontinuing  its farming activities, which included the cultivation of maize, wheat, tobacco, and a banana plantation while winding down its franchise agreement with Avis and Budget Car Hire.

‘’After mutual agreement with the franchisor, the Group will be winding down its vehicle hire operations in 2025,’’ the group said.

With the exit from non-core operations, TSL is now sharpening its focus on its key business sectors, which include manufacturing, tobacco trading, logistics, and real estate.

Several important initiatives are currently underway to bolster TSL’s core business, including the nearing completion of a substantial US$25 million acquisition of a 51.43% stake in Nampak, Zimbabwe’s largest packaging manufacturer.

This acquisition is poised to strengthen TSL's manufacturing capabilities and expand its market presence and benefit from in-house manufacturing of packaging materials

The company constructed a 15,000 square metres warehouse for a tobacco client, with plans for further expansion in its warehousing capacity, essential to accommodate increasing demands in the logistics sector.

The company operates through several key subsidiaries, including BAK Logistics, Agricura, Tobacco Sales Floor, Propak, and TSL Properties, which play a crucial role in TSL’s overall business strategy and contribute to its reputation as a leader in various sectors.
