Harare- O'MARI, the fintech subsidiary of Old Mutual Zimbabwe, has launched O'mari HomeCare, a groundbreaking digital-first home insurance product designed to make essential coverage more accessible and affordable for Zimbabwean homeowners.

This innovative offering leverages technology to streamline the application process and coverage delivery, eliminating the need for in-person visits or paperwork.

Customers can apply and manage their policies via the O'mari mobile app or WhatsApp, making insurance accessible to a wider audience.

The digital-first approach allows O'MARI to offer competitive pricing, with premiums starting at just US$2.50 per month, significantly lower than the industry minimum of US$5.00 per month.

This affordability is a game-changer for many Zimbabweans who previously struggled to afford adequate home insurance.

O'mari HomeCare provides coverage for structural home damage due to fire, lightning, explosions, and falling trees, offering simplified solutions for homeowners. Customers can choose from various cover levels to fit their needs and budgets, ensuring tailored protection.

O'mari HomeCare enters a competitive market where several established insurance companies in Zimbabwe offer home insurance, including Old Mutual Zimbabwe (while they are the underwriter of O'mari HomeCare, they also have their own traditional home insurance products), Zimnat Insurance, NICOZ Diamond Insurance, CBZ Insurance, and First Mutual Insurance.

However, O'mari HomeCare's focus on affordability, digital accessibility, and a simplified approach could give it a distinct advantage in attracting new customers and expanding financial inclusion.

"We are excited to partner with O'MARI to provide our customers with an affordable, flexible, and accessible home insurance solution," said Gloria Zvaravanhu, managing director of Old Mutual Zimbabwe Insurance Company.

"The launch of O'mari HomeCare aligns with our commitment to delivering innovative financial solutions that improve the lives of Zimbabweans."

The launch of O'mari HomeCare contributes to greater financial inclusion, empowering more Zimbabweans to participate in the insurance market.

This innovative solution is poised to revolutionize the home insurance landscape in Zimbabwe, making essential protection more accessible and affordable for a wider population.
