The National Immigration Service (Senami) announced today that the arrival of foreigners in Mozambique increased by 24 percent during the first half of this year against the same period in 2017.
Cira Fernandes, a spokeswoman for the institution said that, “Senami registered an increase of 24 percent in foreign citizens across the country: 881,824 against 709,770 in the same period last year.”
The main countries of origin are Malawi, Zimbabwe and South Africa, motivated by the political stability, tourism, natural resources and business opportunities, she added.
According to Fernandes the increase led the Senami to carry out a greater number of inspections: 2,145 against 943 last year.
