The mainstream index swept past the 232.87 mark to set a new all-time high on gaining 1.3% in the session, while showing no signs of distress. The huge leaps realized inter sessions in the past 3 days has resulted in an average daily gain of 1.4%, a record high for the bourse.
On rising today the industrial index is now up 62.7% year to date and supporting the surge are 49 risers out the active 59 counters on the ZSE.
A total of 11 counters exchanged hands in the session with 5 rising and 2 falling. Simbisa emerged as the top riser after gaining 14.11% to 47c, the counter is currently trading at its highest level since unbundling from Innscor.
Seedco went up, taking its rising tally to 3 straight sessions on gaining 8.31% on Thursday to close at 174.15c. Econet likewise kept momentum rising by 1.35% to 48.85c as the company held its AGM in the capital Harare.
Heavies Delta and Old Mutual were among the top risers with a gain of 0.77% and 0.55% to 141.07c and 411.25c respectively. The latter is trading at an all time high and has widened the premium to other markets Johannesburg and London.
FML and Nicoz Diamond closed stable at 11.50c and 3c respectively after shareholders of the former approved the acquisition of a controlling stake in Nicoz Diamond.
Edgars and Meikles were the only losers in the session. The duo came off by 10% and 6.67% to 4.50c and 21c respectively.
Turnover in the session improved by 105% to $0.65million. ZPI, Econet , Delta and Simbisa were the top value contributors. The total number of shares exchanged in the session came in at 8.6 million.
