Mozambique Electricity (EDM) had revenues of about 27 billion meticais in 2017, and made 150,000 new connections, an increase of 2 percent on the 2016 figure.
The information was advanced by company chairman Mateus Magala during the national meeting on the balance of 2017 activities in Maputo last Friday.
Magala however acknowledged that several constraints were felt last year, the most significant of which was the unsustainable level of debt, which created difficulties for the company.
Also attending the meeting were Deputy Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy Augusto de Sousa Fernando, directors, delegates, former members of the board of directors and other EDM employees.
