The National Statistics Institute’s (INE) economic climate indicator registered a slight increase in April, according to the institution’s latest bulletin, consulted by Lusa.
Based on monthly surveys since February 2004 and reflecting business confidence, the index rose to 103.5 points in April, close to the maximum of 103.8 points reached in February 2015.
“The favourable environment in the month under analysis was due to the optimistic outlook for both employment and demand” during the period under review, the INE says.
The bulletin also indicates that there has been an increase in companies with difficulties in all sectors, with the exception of transport services, where there has been a stabilisation.
“The positive perspective on revenue favours confidence in transport services,” the report notes.
