Harare- Simbisa Brands has strategically appointed David Mudzengi as the Group Finance Officer, effective 1 February 2025. With over 17 years of robust experience in executive leadership, he succeeds Baldwin Guchu, who has transitioned to the CEO role at Innbucks.

Mudzengi is a Chartered Accountant with a comprehensive background in financial reporting, corporate finance, management accounting, and enterprise risk management. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce Honours in Accounting from the National University of Science and Technology.

“The Board extends its congratulations to David on his appointment and expresses confidence in his capacity to drive substantial contributions toward the Company’s strategic objectives,” stated the official circular.

Throughout his career, Mudzengi has held pivotal leadership positions, including Finance Director at Bakers Inn Sales & Distribution, Chief Finance Officer at Ecocash Holdings, Finance Executive at First Mutual Health, and Senior Advisor in Transaction Advisory Services at Ernst & Young.

His achievements encompass steering complex corporate restructurings, pioneering fintech and insurtech business models, and managing multimillion-dollar transactions across the insurance, health, and asset management sectors.

Mudzengi’s extensive expertise and demonstrated leadership will be instrumental as Simbisa Brands Limited accelerates its growth trajectory.
