Changes to Board of Directors: BAT

The Board of Directors of British American Tobacco Zimbabwe (Holdings) Limited announced the resignation of Ms. Christelle Supparayen-Romeo as a Non-Executive Director effective 20 June 2023, along with the resignation of Mr. Sivenasen Moodley as the Managing Director of the Company effective 20 June 2023. These were followed by the appointment of Mr. Philemon Kipkemoi as a Non-Executive Director effective 21 June 2023, along with the appointment of Mr. Kimesh Naidoo as the Managing Director effective 21 June 2023.

ZSE Public Notice: Trading Changes; EFE Suspension

Amid a volatile economic environment, the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange (ZSE) reviewed the minimum transaction thresholds on ZSE Direct with effect from Monday, 26 June 2023, increasing the minimum deposit from ZWL500 to ZWL5,000. The minimum withdrawal was revised from ZWL1,000 to ZWL10,000 while the minimum traded amount rose to ZWL5,000 from the previous ZWL500. Custodial fee increased to ZWL2,000 from ZWL200.

On the other hand, the ZSE provisionally suspended the membership rights of EFE Securities Pvt Ltd, and the associated parties who are Mr. Edgeton Tsanga, Ms. Brenda Mwaturura and Ms. Coreen Madanha. The suspension bars the affected parties from acting as security dealers or any other capacities that can be exercised by duly admitted members of the ZSE pending a hearing into the alleged misconduct.
