South Africa's retail sales up 0.5 percent y/y in April

South African retail sales rose 0.5 percent year-on-year in April after increasing by a revised 4.6 percent in March, the statistics office said on Wednesday. On a month-on-month basis, sales fell 1.2 percent. Sales rose 3.1 percent in the three months to the end of April compared with the same period last year, Statistics South Africa said. - Reuters
