Harare – Stanbic Bank Zimbabwe Limited has trimmed one of its branches in the capital as part of their digitization journey.

Digitization involves the process of shifting banking process and products from manual  to  ICT . In a notice to customers and stakeholders the Bank said, “We wish to advise all our customers and stakeholders that as part of our digitization journey, we will be discontinuing our operations at Parklane Branch located at Social Security Centre (SSC) building with effect from October 1, 2018,” it said.

Stanbic said the move will not affect customers who were using this branch as they will be automatically transferred to other branches.

“All accounts currently maintained at this branch will be automatically transferred to Samora Machel and nelson Mandela branches.

“The seamless transfer of accounts will be carried out by the Bank and there will be no action necessary on the part of the customers. We will be conducting individual clients whose accounts will be part of this change to provide more information on the transfer process,” said Stanbic.

The Bank added that clients can still enjoy banking services offered at any branch convenient to them from its 19 branches dotted across the country and even more banking convenience through its Blue247 Mobile Banking and Online Banking platforms.

Mobile apps and the broader applications of FinTech will continue to streamline personal and business banking.

As a result, branches will become centers for education, problem-solving and financial planning rather than a transactional destination. Many banks are beginning to flip the switch on their branch staffing, going from primarily transactional staff to advice staff.
