Summary

Zimbabwe has officially recorded a total of 46 coronavirus cases and 4 deaths as at 19 May 2020.

A total of 31 589 tests have been done against a total of 16 million in total population.

The criteria for testing has not been random but targeted on suspected cases. For example those who were in contact with patients who tested positive.

The country’s level of preparedness is generally low. Compared to the region the number of confirmed cases in Zimbabwe is low largely a function of low testing levels
