- Volumes increased by 32%

Harare-Dairibord Zimbabwe Limited has recorded a sharp increase in volumes up to 32% in the 3rd quarter ended 30 September as compared to the previous quarter owing to the easing of lockdown restrictions.
Dairibord Zimbabwe Private Limited (DZL Holdings Limited) is the largest dairy company in Zimbabwe producing and marketing a range of fresh milk and ready-to-drink and long-life milk products.
In a management contact meeting with equity axis Dairibord CEO Anthony Mandiwanza highlighted that the volumes have been increasing across all segments.
“Raw milk intake went up by 15%, whilst the beverages volumes surged 54% and the foods going up by 75% giving it an overall increase in volumes of 32%”, said Mr Mandiwanza.
On the contrary during the first half period, the Group experienced declines across all sectors seeing the overall volume fall by 32% whilst raw milk intake declined by 6% due to the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions
The stabilization of the exchange rate and the availability of foreign currency through the auction system has added into the company’s improvement subsequently the volumes, he added
With the current outlook the business is hoping to improve its efficiency by improving its digital channels as well as sourcing enough foreign currency in order to acquire critical raw and packaging material.
